The design protected water quality along Lake Wylie through pervious paving, strategic tree save areas, and careful management of streams and wetlands within an environmentally sensitive watershed. Amenities were thoughtfully sited throughout the community in a "beaded necklace" arrangement of open spaces, each taking advantage of lake views.
The traffic circulation strategy developed with NCDOT ensured safe, functional access to the site while respecting the constraints of a major regional thoroughfare. Together, these design decisions balanced environmental stewardship with the creation of a distinctive, lake-oriented community experience.
